Exotic EPZ is led by a dynamic trio of Kenyan ladies who are passionate and purposeful about creating sustainable and inclusive agribusiness value chains.
Our goal was to start an organization that would have a positive impact on small holder farmers – in large numbers – and which creates opportunities for growth in incomes for themselves and their families.
As a result, we founded Nawiri – which means “Prosper” in Swahili and fully embodies our desire to see our entire value chain prospering. We later on acquired Exotic EPZ limited a Nuts, Coffee and Oils processing and export company.
Together we have 30+ combined years of experience in entrepreneurship and agribusiness. We understand the competitive landscape and global market opportunity for Nuts, Coffee and Oils and are continuously investing in market research and product development.
Prior to joining forces, Loise Maina was at UN Women, Jane Maigua was at International Labour Organization (ILO), and Charity Ndegwa was at African Pro Poor Tourism Development Centre (APTDC).
The Winning Team
Before coming together in the business, we were all working on separate women economic empowerment programs – but after realizing our shared passion for supporting small holder farmers and rural women, we were determined to come together and create something special.
